Woman Picks Up Cooler On Side Of Road, Then Gets Stunned To See What’s Inside

The blue cooler that was on the side of the road looked like it was in good shape. A woman pulled over to get a closer look. She opened the lid and found nine puppies inside! The puppies were all jammed in and were covered in urine and feces. There wasn’t much air, and the cooler was sitting in the hot Texas sun.

The woman called Sulphur Springs animal control department who called Karri McCreary. McCreary is a veterinarian with Vet Ranch, and she said she just drove over to get the puppies, cooler and all.

McCreary said that the woman had probably found the cooler shortly after it was dropped off – if not, the puppies wouldn’t have made it.

McCreary is also a rescuer with Hunt County Pets Alive said the puppies are German shepherd puppies.

Hunts County Pets Alive offers free workshops, helps with adoption events, and has a network for fostering animals.

They also have a trap, neuter, release program for feral cats in the Lone Oak area in Texas. Happily, all nine of the puppies were alive and healthy!

McCreary said they are all strong and playful. They already all have foster homes lined up and will be heading there thanks to the hard work of Hunts County Pets Alive.

Each one will need a little medical attention first and vaccinations. Hunts County Pets Alive is a small organization and treating nine puppies can be very expensive.
