Here is an odd couple for you – a pit bull and a chicken! The chicken in this story had lost her sister and really wasn’t fond of any other animals until she met the pit bull. Crystalyn Corso and her husband had fallen in love with a chicken, who had belonged to their landlord. But the chicken had passed away and decided to get a chicken of their own.

The California couple found a backyard breeder who had many neglected chickens – he had more than he could take care of.

Corso said when they arrived two chickens were in desperate need of help – so, they took them both home. Daisy and Rosie were both bald and malnourished when they arrived at their new home.

For three years, they both thrived under the care of the Corso’s. Tragically, Daisy died from egg yolk peritonitis.

Rosie was left alone and had no interest in finding a new friend until she met Maggie. Maggie had been found living as a stray in Compton, California.

She had recently given birth, was covered in fleas, and there was evidence she had been hit by a car.

The Corso’s were fostering Maggie when they saw how Rosie reacted to her, they knew they were going to keep the pit bull.

Rosie didn’t run away from Maggie like she did all the other cats and dogs. Rosie seemed to be content laying next to Maggie and soaking up the love.

The two are now best friends who eat together and cuddle with each other! Just what the doctor ordered!

Share away, people.
