They Found This Precious Baby On The Brink Of Death… And Then…
The Shar-Pei Rescue of Great Britain is the number one place for injured or homeless Shar-Pei dogs in the area. They’ve seen just about every kind of injury a Shar-Pei can get and just about every grim situation that a dog can be working its way out of… Or so they thought.

Then they met Elmo, a dog unlike any they’d ever seen before.

Less than year old Elmo met the workers of the Shar-Pei Rescue of Great Britain after the Rescue received a call about the dog.

His owners severely neglected the little guy and that led to him getting a bad case of mange.

As if that weren’t bad enough, his owners had covered Elmo with coats and heavily heated their house, so he’d become dehydrated.

Emma Steele and Lynne Parish came to rescue Elmo, and they honestly weren’t sure if he would survive the car ride to his new foster home.

When he did get to his new home he was given love and care, including specialized food, to help him fully recover.

Lynne Parish said that she didn’t believe Elmo’s previous owners were malicious — they were just ill-equipped to deal with Elmo’s needs.

Shar-Peis are difficult dogs to care for according to her. Elmo’s mange is beginning to go away, and with that alleviation his fur is starting to grow back.

During this process Elmo also underwent a surgery that is common for Shar-Peis and it will let him see more easily.

Now he’s got an adorable cone to go with his returning fur!

Share away, people.
