Woman's hilarious struggle with large turkey turns into mishap for husband

The holidays are officially upon us—which means—it’s time to start thawing that turkey!

One commercial that has the internet cracking up focuses on the struggles of cooking a turkey. While it’s perhaps slightly exaggerated – there’s nothing like knowing you’re not alone when it comes to turkeys being a pain in the neck!

Creating the “perfect” Thanksgiving meal requires a lot of planning and steps. However, that doesn’t mean it’s gonna be a pretty picture.

We don’t all look like Martha Stewart while we’re preparing our turkeys. Let’s face it, for a lot of us, there’s nothing calm about trying to work with a 20-pound jiggly bird.

The Jennie-O commercial below captures this struggle in a hilarious way. A woman has her gigantic turkey in the sink with the water running on it. But when it’s time to take it back out – well, that’s where the problem arises.

You might be able to relate to the woman who goes in for the lift – only to have her hands slide right off the bird!

But hey, on Thanksgiving there’s no giving up. She attempts over and over again to pick up the turkey, pulling at its slippery skin and grabbing onto it any way she can.

Pretty much it’s like a wrestling match between the woman and her turkey.

Finally, she’s done playing around and grabs ahold of it with a great big bear hug. No more Mrs. Nice Mom.

With her strong grip, she eventually pulls the bird out of the sink.

Wouldn’t it be awesome if our struggles were that simple though? Since they’re not, she’s shown dropping the bird on the floor.

“Oh, [insert your favorite expletive here].”

The lady in the video isn’t the only one who’s dropped her family’s Thanksgiving dinner on the floor.

Debbie K. admitted to Redbook:

“I dropped the turkey after rubbing olive oil all over it. I rinsed it off, rubbed [the oil] on again, and cooked it. Didn’t tell anybody for 10 years… I just told them last year. Oh well, it didn’t kill anybody or make them sick!”

A New York resident named Tom shared a funny story that involved the washing of a turkey. Lucky for him though, it happened to his mom.

He explained to Bon Appetit:

“It was my mother’s first Thanksgiving. The recipe for roast turkey began by instructing the cook to “wash and dry” the bird. My mother washed the turkey with SOS pads and dish soap, and evidently it didn’t rinse very well.”

Reddit user posted their “Thanksgiving Horror Story,” but frankly, it sounds like a brilliant way to avoid your typical turkey-cooking troubles.

“My grandparents made turkey lasagna last year. It wasn’t altered in any way from normal lasagna they just added turkey in with the ground beef.”

As for the woman in the Jennie-O commercial, she’s a fighter. After dropping her bird on the floor, she goes to pick it back up and toss it in the sink.

However, this lady’s got more strength than she realizes – and the results have people busting up with laughter.
